Instantly vs EmailWarmup: do you need standalone warmup at all?

Pricing verified on instantly.ai, 26 July 2026  ·  6 min read

This is not a like-for-like comparison, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Instantly is a full outbound platform — lead database, sequencer, unibox, CRM — that includes unlimited email warmup on every paid tier. EmailWarmup does one thing. The real question is not which is better, it is whether you are buying a sending stack or a warmup service.

Short verdict

If you send through Instantly, use its warmup. If you send through anything else, do not buy a $47/month platform to get warmup.

Instantly's bundled warmup is genuinely unlimited and genuinely included. It is only poor value when the sequencer around it is a feature you will never open.

What Instantly costs

PlanPriceUploaded contactsEmails / monthWarmup
Growth$47/mo1,0005,000Unlimited
Hypergrowth$97/mo25,000100,000+Unlimited
Light Speed$358/mo100,000500,000Unlimited
EnterpriseCustom100,000+500,000+Private deliverability network

Every tier advertises unlimited email accounts and unlimited warmup. That is a meaningfully different pricing philosophy from the per-mailbox warmup vendors — MailReach at $25/mailbox or Warmup Inbox at $15–$79/inbox — and it is why agencies running dozens of sending addresses often end up on a bundled platform.

The catch is what you are actually paying for. $47 a month buys 5,000 sending credits and a full sequencer. If you already run outreach in Smartlead, Lemlist, Apollo, Woodpecker or your CRM, you would be paying for a second sequencer you will not use — and your warmup would live inside a platform you are not sending from.

The lock-in question

Bundling warmup into a sending platform has one consequence worth thinking about before you commit: warmup stops when the subscription stops. Sender reputation decays during quiet periods, so if you pause Instantly for a slow quarter, your mailboxes go cold along with your campaigns — exactly when you would most want background engagement keeping them warm.

A standalone warmup service decouples those two decisions. You can pause outreach without pausing reputation maintenance, switch sequencers without touching warmup, and keep warming mailboxes you do not currently run campaigns from. Whether that is worth a separate subscription depends entirely on how steady your sending is.

Which one should you pick?

Choose Instantly if
  • You need the whole outbound stack, not just warmup
  • You run many sending addresses and want one flat price
  • You want leads, verification and sequencing in one place
  • You send continuously and will not pause the subscription
Choose EmailWarmup if
  • You already have a sequencer you like
  • You want warmup that survives a paused campaign budget
  • You want to start free rather than at $47/month
  • You want to warm mailboxes you do not send campaigns from
  • You want to self-host the warmup engine

If you are already an Instantly customer, we would rather you used the warmup you are paying for than added a second subscription. That is the honest answer, and it is the same one we would give about any bundled platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is Instantly's email warmup really unlimited?

Instantly advertises unlimited email accounts and unlimited warmup on every paid tier, starting with Growth at $47 per month. The limits on those plans are sending volume and uploaded contacts, not warmup. Verified on instantly.ai on 26 July 2026.

Do I need a separate warmup tool if I use Instantly?

Usually not. If you are already paying for Instantly and sending through it, its bundled warmup covers the same job. A standalone warmup tool makes sense when you send through a different platform, when you want warmup to keep running after you stop paying for a sequencer, or when you want to warm mailboxes you do not send campaigns from.

How much does Instantly cost?

Instantly's outreach plans start at $47 per month for Growth (1,000 uploaded contacts, 5,000 emails a month), then $97 for Hypergrowth (25,000 contacts, 100,000+ emails a month) and $358 for Light Speed (100,000 contacts, 500,000 emails a month). Enterprise is custom-quoted. Verified on instantly.ai on 26 July 2026.

Can I use EmailWarmup alongside Instantly, Smartlead or Lemlist?

Yes. EmailWarmup connects to the mailbox itself over SMTP/IMAP or Gmail OAuth, not to your sending platform, so it runs independently of whatever sequencer you use. It does not send your campaigns and does not need access to them.
